Beautiful grounds, historical charm of the building, variety of event spaces

The check-in process needs serious reevaluation!!! Having to wait long periods at reception only to be told there's no early check-in feels downright unprofessional. the lack of toilet paper in rooms is baffling!!!

The lodge room was comfortable with good amenities for a short stay, including a lovely bathtub. The staff was consistently courteous, and the food portions were generous, particularly enjoying the prawn Thai curry. the lodge location requires a bit of a walk from the main hotel building, which could be inconvenient. Additional challenges included spotty Wi-Fi and some noise from nearby rooms, which affected the overall relaxation.

Had a blast with my friends during our stay! The wedding we attended at the venue was stunning, and we loved the nearby golf course for a leisurely stroll. it's a great spot for groups looking to enjoy a beautiful location and excellent service.

The Standard Double Room offered a fresh smell, clean linens, and all the necessary amenities including tea, coffee, and a bottle of water. A standout was the peaceful environment where I was serenaded awake by birds, creating a pleasant start to the day.

My experience wasn't without its challenges. The TV operated poorly, limiting entertainment options during downtime. the restaurant's service charge policy felt confusing. I noted a 12.5% service charge alongside an option for gratuity, which was misleading. I addressed this, and while the service charge was credited, it still left me scratching my head. The room was also pretty warm, making it uncomfortable at times, and there was a lack of a fan for circulation. Internal noise was an issue, with disturbances from the corridor disrupting sleep. while the hotel has its moments of charm, a few upgrades and clearer policies would greatly enhance the stay.

The property was tastefully decorated with charming British elegance, and the general accessibility within the gardens made it easy for me and my friends to enjoy the lovely surroundings without any hassle.

Better signage for room locations would help greatly.

Gorse Hill offers a beautiful venue for weddings, surrounded by lovely grounds. I truly enjoyed the pleasant walk through the gardens, which added a nice touch to our trip. The staff were friendly and helpful, making our stay feel welcoming. The room we had, however, wasn't quite up to par. It felt cramped and had inadequate window blinds, making it too bright in the morning. The bathroom was functional but quite basic, lacking some amenities. When we tried to check in early, the staff seemed unhelpful, which left a bit of a sour taste. Food options were decent, but the cooked breakfast didn't meet my expectations. Would appreciate more attention to room comfort and service in peak times.

Had an awesome time with my friends! We enjoyed the beautiful grounds and took advantage of the public footpath through the woods. Checking in and out was a breeze, and the food at the restaurant was pretty good. Definitely recommend trying the breakfast, even if it was a bit pricey.

One downside was the hot water situation. it took ages to get hot water in our room, which was pretty annoying. It definitely impacted our experience.

would like to stay longer

The grounds are beautiful with lovely gardens. My room had a private bathroom, flat-screen TV, electric kettle, and a comfy seating area. The shower was nice and had good water pressure. Breakfast was awesome with plenty of choices. Staff were very friendly and the bar was great for a chill evening.
